Home Alone

AHHHH!
Just kidding.
Tom left early this morning for a men's retreat with our church, and I get the apartment to myself until Saturday evening. Living in a small apartment with my in-laws next door, alone time is a previous commodity. I grew up an only child, would find myself exploring our house and being alone for hours on end. Tom grew up with his sister in the top bunk. So, getting used to cramped quarters and the "family-family-family everywhere" environment has been exhausting at times. Sometimes I just need some alone time.

5 Things I Do When Home Alone

1. Enjoy pure SILENCE. Or, the exact opposite, because I can.
2. Run some errands. Sneak some junk food into the bags.
3. Pig out, because I can just throw away the evidence after all.
I will eventually look in a mirror, see a grey hair/wrinkle/zit and realize I need some pampering.
4. Get scared when I realize that Tom isn't home to protect me from intruders. But then I suck it up and put on my big-girl pants and cock that rifle. Or (more likely) grab the baseball bat from under the bed.
5. When Tom gets home and asks what I've done the past two days, I smile. And wiggle my eyebrows.

So tell me...
What do you do when home alone?
Do you ever jump up and down (like me and Macaulay) and yell "I'm Living Alone!"?

It's about that time again! Six months ago I wrote from A-Z, a different letter every day in April (except Sundays). This time around I'm going to write a post every day in October, hence Blogtober. Clever, huh?

  3. I always feel a twinge of guilt over the amount of happiness I feel when I get alone time lol! I love my hubby, but it's so nice! I always think I'm going to accomplish more then I do however. I hope you are still enjoying it!

    1. I know! I was thinking as I wrote this " wow... I sound like a rotten person!" haha. And despite grand plans, the most monumental thing to happen was I went to the park and got a coffee :)

  5. oh my gosh do I ever LOVE being home alone! I do all of these, especially enjoying the silence, but I also enjoy having control of the tv remote, being able to blare music while I do chores, and basically be on my own schedule without having to worry about anyone else for a little while.
