In like a lion, in NYC

March definitely came in with a roar, but as I was walking home last night with the temperature at 45 degrees, I realized we've had our last snowfall of the season. On March 1st while Tom and I were out gallivanting around Manhattan, I was able to gather some photos from around Times Square. And then on this last Thursday, a snowstorm fell on NYC and made for some pretty photos in Brooklyn. Since I'm a sucker for beautiful snow photos, this is a post about pretty snowfall in NYC.

So tell me...
Is is snowy where you are? Where are you?
Do you find snow to be beautiful, or just a nuisance to be dealt with?

  1. I looove snow. We don't get much in France, but I love it. I remember many blizzards in NY. :-) It makes you so thankful for spring!

    1. I guess it depends on factors such as whether you need to be somewhere, versus my ability to work from home these days and choosing to take a wintery trek to Dunkin Donuts. So, I love it but understand why others dred snow storms.

  2. Looks very cold and treacherous in the snow.

    1. I tend to stay inside and wait it out, but not because it's treacherous. NYC typically makes a quick job out of cleaning snow. And I love it when it snows because it just feels like the cold is worth it (versus a freezing dreary day).

    1. The grass is always greener, right? And while I love warmer weather, I know I would miss snow if we moved south. 70-80s do sound great though :)

  4. I like the first 1 or 2 snowstorms of the year and especially snow around Christmas but that's it! I could definitely stand to move to a warmer climate now and just come back home for the Holidays to see snow!

    1. I guess it's because I get to stay home when it's particularly bad out that I don't mind it. When I lived in the country and had to drive/plan around a snowstorm I wasn't so fond of it either!

    1. Snow is something that would take a long time to miss, I agree! But then you see pretty photos of it and miss it for just a minute. And then you snap out of it :)

  6. I live in MN and today it's melting away. Yours is lovely - so is your city.

    1. Thank you, and normally this city and snow are beautiful, until about an hour after the snow stops. Then it is a dirty slushy mess that you hate. But, when it is just starting to accumulate, the snow is beautiful! I imagine Minnesota is beautiful with a coat of snow as well :)

  7. I am cold just looking at your pictures! I think snow can be very pretty however, it is more of a pain in the butt if you ask me. We got a little snow this year, I am up in Washington and most the snow I see is in the mountains, which as far as I'm concerned is where it belongs.

    1. Don't be cold! It might just be me, but when it snows I feel the air is warmer. Or, at least the cold isn't insulting me with an ugly visual of a grey dirty winter day, but a pretty clean one instead. And that makes me hate the cold a little less :)

Haha, that snow better stay in its neck of the woods I guess!
