On the mend!

This past week has been nothing but feeling sick. Sick not because of the baby but because of the pollen. I told my husband the other day, I felt kinda down because I didn't feel pregnant. I couldn't feel anything but just miserable.

I've missed feeling the constant semi-nauseous feeling, despite it being a cruel trick on my body. Feeling like you want the throw up, only to discover it's because my stomach reached a level of less than 20% full. Eat some food, feel better. What a strange way we work.

This morning, I felt sick. I ate some leftover tacos from last night at 6am. And now, if I'm lucky, I'll get to see if I experience some lovely heartburn as well. Here's hoping that I feel pregnant again for a while.

Also, 10 weeks today! I'm finally feeling good about this being a long-term pregnancy, since my personal milemarkers have all been met (heard the heartbeat, and reaching double digits). My bloodthinners seem to be working, and I hope to be posting my first pregnancy update on Monday. If I feel like it. Because honestly, these last two weeks I've feel like doing nothing.

  1. Good Morning - we're neighbors at #fmfparty :) I do hope you get to feeling better and enjoy every single moment of the gift of pregnancy. I had three pregnancies - one in which I felt great the entire time, one miscarriage, and then one in which I was bedridden from start to finish. All three very different & yet all three precious to me. May God's hand be on this life inside of you, forming this child in perfection and health. Blessings to you today!

    1. Hi Joanne, nice to meet you :) I guess they are all different, my first two had me overwhelmed with sickness the entire time I was pregnant, and this one took a lot longer to come around. This is definitely a gift, I just pray I can experience it more of it and less of me being ill :)

  2. When I was pregnant I never got heartburn, I think those symptoms are different for each person. I would also not "feel" pregnant sometimes, like I would be working and all of a sudden look down and remember I was pregnant! I think it's perfectly okay to not "feel" pregnant every single minute, you're not going to have all those symptoms all the time! Sorry about your allergies! The pollen is so bad this year! Looking forward to your first pregnant update!!

    1. I can't even look down to be reminded yet, so I'm looking forward to some more proof in the coming weeks haha. The previous losses do tend to scare you when you feel too well, or don't feel pregnant. I'll get over it I'm sure, but I still want some more obvious signs. Thanks!

  3. I couldn't drink coffee, and couldn't stand the smell of bacon when I was pregnant. Good luck!

    1. Bacon would definitely have me hiding, anything greasy sounds horrible (which I great for my diet I guess!) Thanks Linda!

  4. Wow, I was on blood thinners during my pregnancy too! Hang in there, I know it's tough. You do injections, yes? Heparin or Lovenox or is there something new? That was the ONLY part of being pregnant I didn't love. Wishing you the best and enjoy!

    1. I'm taking Lovenox, and have my high-risk appointment in just over a week to assess my dosage, etc. I think those are still the same meds given today, nothing innovative has really happened I guess. And I really don't mind the shots, although I expect they will hurt and bruise more when my belly stretches out as the pregnancy progresses. But I'll be sure to mention that when it happens. Thank God for the blessing of medicine :)
