I'm Positive.

I quit the A-Z challenge. Sometimes it's okay to say no, especially this month. Partly because this April has been very busy at work. And also, I miss my regularly scheduled writing prompts.

Plus, I'm pregnant.
I got a positive test this morning and am guessing that this past week explains the exhaustion and preoccupation. This past week I've been too exhausted to write out the posts every day. I got as far as letter E, and today I am supposed to be writing letter K.

Seems that I'm not just extra tired this month, I'm busy making someone.

I will be writing the NYC posts and featuring the photographers (after all, I have most of them written and ready to go) but won't be beating myself up over the schedule anymore. Removing them from the A-Z category and relocating them to Exploring NYC (making them a regular series around here).

Hope no one minds :)

So tell me...
Has April surprised you?
Will you be following along, as I figure this Lupus APS thing out?

  1. Farin, congratulations to you on your pregnancy. I'm not a medical person at all, but have had three children. Sometimes the spotting is normal, but yo uneed to keep in touch with a doctor on a regular basis.

    1. Thanks for the suggestion Linda, but I forgot you weren't a visitor when I was diagnosed. I know all about spotting, but I have to stay on medicine to keep from loosing the baby.

  6. Congratulations Farin! I remember the first trimester was the worst because of exhaustion and just feeling sick. Drink a lot of water! (That worked for me)

  15. Beyond thrilled for you! Remember, I dealt with the Lupus Antiphosolipid Syndrome myself. Doctor advised me to take one baby aspirin/daily for my entire pregnancy. My daughter was born completely healthy at full-term...after suffering 2 miscarriages. Best of luck!

  17. what a pleasant april surprise:) hope you are adjusting to the shots. i'm a nurse. my patients tell me i give a good shot. i don't do anything special other than give them the way we were taught. from what i observe, not many do them that way anymore. pinching the skin seems to help lessen the pain. i don't know why, but it does. i think for the lovenox shots, you are supposed to keep it pinched where for most others, you don't. then you have some air in the syringe that is also supposed to follow the medication (for lovenox) it is going into the skin not into a vein and it is supposed to lessen bruising. blessings. i had a friend who had a stillborn baby (#2) and they discovered this lupus problem. she did the lovenox thing for her next 2 pregnancies and all went well:) it is quite amazing:)

    1. You know Martha, this is one of my favorite comments to read on here. Full of helpful information, and while I do pinch and (now, thanks to you) insert the air bubble, I still bruise. Guess it comes with taking the injections over longer periods of time. Wonder how purple my stomach will be at the end of the pregnancy :) I know it's somewhat common, but many don't ever find out why they are losing their babies. I know someone with the same issue, but they are calling it hematomas and just hoping with each new baby. It takes a lot of testing and dedication (cash) to diagnose it, but I'm glad we did it. Now we have a good chance with this one (and hopefully future pregnancies as well).

Thanks for commenting, this made my day reading it!!
